Designer Julia Buckingham  is a bundle of energy, even late in the day when we interviewed her at Fall 2015 High Point Market. The breadth of products is what is striking when seeing her collection at Global Views from a huge cabinet that you’ll love madly to a trinket table. There is also glassware and other smaller items, but it is accurate to say her showplace is an interesting and exciting space.

It is the mix of modern and antique that makes the space eye-catching.  So much so that Buckingham registered the word Modernique® a classic marketing move.   The collection has a mix of lacquer, patina, glam, neutrals, and colors making each piece unique.  When these are arranged in the same area you get the sense you’ve stepped into home rather than a showroom.  It is the kind of feeling where the pieces are not matched as if from the same product line, but instead the pieces go together because they represent a personality, a style of the buyer.

Speaking of style, notice in the video that several different High Point Market Authority Style Spotters “spotted” pieces in the Julia Buckingham collection from the Fall 2105 market.   For example, the popular Wiggle Chair (spotted by interior designer Courtney Lake) continues its appeal with new coverings that keep it top of mind for interior designers and expanding the types of projects for which it’s a perfect fit.
