Mendota Heights, MN — May 5, 2016 — Orion Air Ride General Manager Mark Fierek will be on a panel for home delivery at the Logistics Symposium held at High Point University June 7 and 8. The symposium is produced by Furniture Today and American Home Furnishings Alliance.

Fierek is the First Vice President of the Specialized Furniture Carriers a division of American Home Furnishings Alliance.   That group examines the unique characteristics of handling the wide variety of furniture products and the regulations impacting that part of the transportation industry.   “Some of these regulations deal with hours of service for truckers and consumers really don’t understand how those regulations can throw a delivery into chaos,” said Fierek.

At the Logistics Symposium, Fierek will participate on a panel discussing issues facing long-haul, LTL, intermodal and home delivery carriers.  The title of the panel is Shrinking the Supply Chain: Best Practice and Breakthrough Innovations.   More details on the 2016 Logistics Symposium agenda and registration are on the Logistics Conference page.

About Orion Air Ride

Orion Air Ride specializes in VIP handling of all types of furniture. VIP handling includes white glove services, installation, and packaging removal.  Each piece is handled by hand, not with forklifts, and is inspected and deluxed, if necessary prior to final movement to the consumer. While it takes slightly longer, Orion Air Ride blanket wraps each piece for its final trip from distribution center to consumer’s home. The video below highlights final inspection prior to placing on the truck for the last leg of its journey
